Going global: the challenges for knowledge-based economies
Helsinki, 21-22 September 2006

Organized by the Ministry of Trade and Industry of Finland, the VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland, the Six Countries Programme and the European Commission, this workshop focused on the challenges that globalisation poses to knowledge-based economies and its impact on innovation, the economy and society. Past and future trends were analysed, and issues of policy, governance, sustainability and the sharing of benefits and responsibilities were addressed. The workshop brought together experts and practitioners from policy, entrepreneurial and academic spheres.
